Counter Tag

Overview

Holds a whole number, like IntTag, but also automatically tracks the lowest and highest value it has ever seen — useful for counts you want to keep an eye on over time (parts produced, cycle counts, fault counts) without needing a separate Engine program to calculate the running min/max yourself.

Value

A 32-bit signed integer, plus running Min and Max values that update automatically as new readings come in.

Transform options

CounterTag doesn't support any Transform — the Transform field has no effect if set.

Type Attributes

CounterTag doesn't use Type Attributes — the field has no effect if set.

Notes

• Change Tolerance applies to CounterTag when Capture Changes Only is checked, the same as IntTag — the value has to move by more than the configured tolerance to count as a change.
• Min/Max start unset and are established by the first reading, then only ever widen (Min only goes down, Max only goes up) — they don't reset themselves. If you need to reset them, that has to be done deliberately (e.g. by restarting the connector).
